Sea Turtle Nesting Season – Through the end of July

turtles

June not only brings summer and more heat, it brings nesting sea turtles to our beaches. If you have never been on a turtle walk to watch them nest we highly recommend it! Its a nighttime event on the beaches (don’t be discouraged if you don’t see one the first time out, the turtles are on a payroll!) with guides to help you watch the endangered species lay their eggs, it truly is amazing! Here are some links to groups that put on the walks, call now before they fill up!

National Doughnut Day – Friday, June 3rd

Check with your favorite doughnut shop to see what they offer…need we say more!?

Pineapple Man Triathlon – Sunday, June 5th

The 31st Pineapple Man Triathlon is hosted by the Melbourne Beach Rotary Club. Ok, so maybe you don’t want to get up at 5am on a Sunday to go swim .34 miles, then bike 15.4 miles, and then run 3.4 miles but it sure is fun to go watch everyone else do it! The first wave of the race goes off at 7am (parking can be tight so plan ahead) with the remaining going every few minutes. Each year there are a few fun “outfits” that make it down the course, and if you watch other people workout that early you did too..right!?

Flag Day – Tuesday, June 14th
